Welcome to GRR Planning!
"GRRrrrrrrrrr" has taken on a new level of fun and meaningfulness. With our fast paced lives, are we really too busy to stay in touch, or is it an excuse to pull out all the stops and plan for some really quality time?
It doesn't really matter the reason ... but it does matter that we do it. Relationships are special and as we welcome new generations, this important tradition becomes even more valuable.
If you are the one put in charge of planning a gathering, you have a task ahead of you for sure; it can be a real bear but always worth it. We want to take some of the bite out of it and maybe keep things down to a dull roar!
We have gathered a list of ideas to consider for your planning and preparation, recipe ideas, activities, a resource for entertainment and even a list of gathering places to accommodate you and your friends.
If you have ideas that may be helpful to others, please write us so that we can post them on the site.
FEATURED REUNION
65th Anniversary Class Reunion for Lowell High School Class of 1940
The town of Lowell, Michigan hosted the 65th class reunion for the class of 1940 in July.
Classmates from as far away as Phoenix, Arizona and Florida returned to recall memories and make new ones. Former classmate, King Doyle of the King Milling Company in Lowell scheduled special tours of the new museum and of the Lowell Showboat; the river’s icon of days gone by. Inez (Cole) Craig made contact to all classmates to bring them together for a day of reminiscing. Just like 2 years ago, these “youngsters” made the greater part of their communication via e-mail...Who said the Internet is for kids?
Lunch was hosted at the Flat River Grill and was highlighted by surprise guest, Barry Manilow impersonator, Frank Sternett and accompanied by Sharon Nicholas of Cohoctah, Michigan who walked in on the festivities and broke into song that brought tremendous applause. Music was planned to recall the memories that the class recalls with fondness. Frank’s ability to bring out audience participation was at its best; and is a highlight of his many talents.
This was a big event with lots of special events so the 67th will have a long way to go to outdo this year's excitement. Leave it to the Lowell gang though..anything can happen that group of 83 year olds!
